Direct healthcare professional communications (DHPCs) are regulator-agreed communications used when important information needs to reach healthcare professionals directly and promptly.
Official resource
- EMA DHPC repository — searchable medicine-level DHPC pages and documents.
What the resource contains
EMA DHPC pages identify the medicine or active substance, the communication itself, the dissemination date and, where relevant, the regulatory outcome or type of safety issue. They may also include a communication plan describing the intended recipients.
Practical use
Use this resource when tracking implementation of significant EU safety actions, checking the exact regulator-agreed wording of a communication, confirming when dissemination was planned, or reconciling a safety communication with an associated signal, referral, variation or other post-authorisation measure.
A DHPC is not a substitute for the underlying regulatory decision or product-information change. Where the communication arose from another procedure, review that procedure as well.
